For Episode 74, we kick things off by reviewing the Valentine’s Day House Show that took place right here in Bakersfield, CA. It was a very good card, as far as House Shows go and featured Chris Jericho vs Bray Wyatt, AJ Styles vs The Miz, a big six Diva tag team match and a surprise appearance by an NXT Star on the main roster. We have all the results and analysis for you from what was a very fun return to Bakersfield for the WWE.
We then review Monday Night Raw, which took place the following night down in Anaheim. Dean Ambrose was forced to defend his Intercontinental Championship in a Fatal 5 Way match. Could Dean retain his title or would the odds be stacked too much against him this time out? Charlotte really turned up the heat with a sizzling promo on Brie Bella heading into their Divas Title tilt at FastLane. What did the champ say that got Brie Bella so mad? Mark Henry may have sustained a real injury on Raw and we have those details for you. Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns had a very strange interaction that was out of place for both men. Does this mean anything and, if so, what? We cover this and all the key developments as the go-home Episode of Raw before FastLane started fast and then limped across the finish line.
On NXT, Asuka, Tye Dillinger and others were in action. There was a big 8 man Tag Team match between Enzo Amore & Big Cass teaming up with American Alpha to do battle with Dash & Dawson, who had teamed up with Blake & Murphy. What, if anything, did the outcome of this match tell us? But, in NXT this week, it was really all about the #1 Contenders match between Sami Zayn and Samoa Joe. Controversy would reign supreme yet again? What happened and what does it mean as far as who will be challenging Finn Balor for his NXT Championship?
We close things down by returning to the Front Lines of the Monday Night War as we review and recap Nitro vs Raw for October 16, 1995. On Nitro, we got Chris Benoit vs Eddie Guerrero in one of the first WCW matches the two ever had against each other. We also had Ric Flair going it alone against Arn Anderson and Flyin’ Brian…or was he? What WCW icon came to Flair’s aide and stood by the side of the Nature Boy? WWF, meanwhile, was countering Nitro with Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs Doink The Clown, a Tag Team title defense by the Smoking Guns and Bret “Hitman” Hart battling Isaac Yankem, DDS, inside a Steel Cage. Did Raw reign supreme on this night or did Nitro come out on top as the Monday Night War continued to heat up in the Fall of 1995?
All this and more in Episode 74.
