On Episode 178, we play some catch up and conduct an interview with an 11-year ring veteran, and multi-time Champion.
We begin by recapping The March 21, 2017 edition of Smackdown Live that saw the development of many Smackdown story angles for WrestleMania 33. It also saw a great battle for the Smackdown Tag Team Titles between The Usos and American Alpha. Baron Corbin battled Randy Orton for the first time ever, as all the while Baron was being targeted by the Intercontinental Champion, Dean Ambrose, while Orton would have to deal with the WWE Champion, Bray Wyatt later on in the evening. The Miz and Maryse continued to mock and minimize the relationship of John Cena and Nikki Bella. AJ Styles agreed to face Shane McMahon in a match at WrestleMania and looked to ambush Shane again. Find out how that all back fired on Episode 178.
We then go on to 205 Live. TJ Perkins took on Tony Neese in another fine match between these two. Austin Aries and Neville continued their war of words leading into their Cruiserweight Championship match at WrestleMania and then Aries got to do some extra scouting as The King of The Cruiserweights took on Mustafa Ali. We then check in with NXT as the road to Takeover: Orlando continued to evolve. Oney Lorcan and Andrade “Cien” Almas renewed their rivalry in a terribly stiff match. Asuks dismantled Priscilla Zumiga and then had some choice words for Ember Moon about their upcoming clash at Takeover: Orlando. Kassius Ohno, by night’s end, found himself in a Loser Leaves NXT match against Elias Samson. In the Main Event, Roderick Strong, Tye Dillinger, and No Way Jose looked to get even against SAniTY. This match saw the arrival of a new Women’s competitor…and one who may have shifted the balance of power in this feud. We give you all the details on Episode 178.
