Happy Memorial Day from all of us here at the Attitude Of Aggression to you! The guys spent a lazy Sunday hanging out, swimming, and having too much fun. Along they way, they recorded Episode 102 as they reviewed all the big events in WWE and pro wrestling from last week. And what a week it was.
Raw saw the return of Seth Rollins and a major announcement from Shane McMahon about the Main Event for Money In The Bank. Speaking of MITB, Raw had five qualifying matches featuring Sheamus v. Sami Zayn, Dean Ambrose v. Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro v. The Miz, Chris Jericho v. Apollo Crews, and AJ Styles v. Kevin Owens. Who qualified for the big MITB Ladder match coming up in Vegas in a few weeks? We let you know on Episode 102. Raw also saw the implosion of the relationship between Charlotte and her father, “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair. This highly emotional segment of Raw saw a masterful blend of kayfabe and truth and was a great example of a worked shoot mixed with a pipe-bomb. The guys pull no punches as they analyze where WWE went with this segment. Did WWE go too far or did they get this just right? We let you know on Episode 102.
We then shift to NXT where the card for Takeover took shape. TM61 debuted against Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa. Why did this match leave the guys feeling good about the state of NXT’s Tag Team division? William Regal booked a big match for NXT Takeover: The End and it is a match we saw coming on Episode 99. To find out what match we are talking about, tune in to Episode 102. Bayley, meanwhile, was apparently injured during her loss to Nia Jax the week before. So, a Triple Threat match was booked between Nia, Alexa Bliss, and Carmela to determine the #1 contender to Asuka’s NXT Women’s Title. Who won to earn the right to face Asuka for the belt at Takeover? We let you know on Episode 102.
It is then on to Smackdown where Alberto Del Rio took on Zack Ryder in a MITB qualifier? Who became the 6th man to qualify for MITB? Cesaro challenged The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship while Kalisto got his rematch against Rusev for the United States Championship. Did any titles change hands or did the champions retain? We let you know on Episode 102.
In our Twitter Versed section, we look at the news of the week and this includes our discussion of the pending brand split. Yes, Raw and Smackdown are going their separate ways, again, with Smackdown moving to a live format on Tuesday nights and with each brand having a distinct roster. Is this a good thing or perhaps not so much. We let you know on a fun, entertaining, informative, and somewhat crazy 102nd Episode of the Attitude of Aggression Wrestling Podcast.
